LCA Strings Program

Laramie Christian Academy × Cornerstone Music Studios

We are excited to continue growing the strings program at Laramie Christian Academy for the 2026–2027 school year!

This fall, LCA students will have two opportunities to study string instruments with Cornerstone Music Studios: Introduction to Violin for beginning students and LCA Orchestra for students ready to continue developing their musicianship in an ensemble.

Both courses begin the first week of September and meet twice each week on the LCA campus.

Introduction to Violin

IA welcoming first step into string playing.

Introduction to Violin is designed for students who are curious about music and ready to learn a string instrument for the first time.

Students will learn on the violin, building foundational skills that can later transfer to violin, viola, or cello. No previous musical experience is required.

LCA Orchestra

The next step: making music together.

We are thrilled to introduce the LCA Orchestra this fall!

This ensemble gives continuing string students the opportunity to take the skills they have learned individually and use them where string playing truly comes alive: making music with other musicians.

Students will continue developing technique, music reading, listening, ensemble awareness, and musicianship while learning to rehearse and perform as an orchestra.

Instruments & Rentals

Students will need an appropriately sized instrument for class.

We continue to recommend D&L Music for instrument rentals.

All students must be sized before the school year begins.

Children grow quickly, and an instrument that fit correctly last semester may no longer be the appropriate size. Every participating student—new and returning—needs to be sized or re-sized at LCA's Back-to-School Night on August 19 or 20.

Please do not assume that your student's instrument from last year still fits.

Students entering Orchestra who would like to switch to viola or cello should also be sized for their new instrument before arranging a rental.

We will be available at Back-to-School Night to help families determine the correct instrument and size and answer questions about rentals.

Once rented, instruments should be labeled with the student’s name and delivered to their LCA classroom teacher on or before August 31.
